Casey is a low vision artist, community builder, and lifelong believer that art is for everyone. From childhood, Casey was drawn to creating art and dreamed of becoming an art teacher. Today, that passion continues through painting, tactile art, and sharing creative experiences with others, including through the Alaska Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired.

Casey’s primary mediums are acrylic paint and digital media, with a particular love for abstract and tactile painting. Their work explores color, texture, depth, movement, and the distortion of space. Large-scale tactile pieces invite viewers to experience a landscape not only through sight, but through touch: feeling curves, mounds, layers, and changing textures much like moving through nature.

Changes in Casey’s vision have also become part of their artistic language. Living with low vision means that fine details and edges can be difficult to see, but rather than allowing that to end their artistic practice, Casey has embraced abstraction and surrealism. Their paintings often explore doubled imagery, uncertain edges, and the feeling of moving through a world that cannot always be seen clearly.
